For more than two decades, she has dedicated herself to helping others. As a survivor of childhood trauma and sexual assault, she faced significant challenges, including a lack of support and positive outlets. These difficulties led her down the path of juvenile delinquency and years of drug addiction.

However, Elaine persevered, fighting tirelessly to overcome and heal. With the help of drug rehabilitation, support from social services, community organizations, support groups, mentoring & her faith, she not only survived but thrived. Her journey stands as a testament to the transformative impact of outreach, community support, education, and empowerment in a young person’s life. There is power in taking control of your life, your growth and well-being.  In doing so you shape your reality and your future for the better. Elaine’s many accomplishments include: mentor to young girls, founded Yet Stand, Inc., written a play about her traumatic experiences:  “Yet I Stand” which has been presented annually for 10 years.
